This morning I had the pleasure of joining Abby Huntsman from HuffPost Live, and a group of incredibly inspiring women, to discuss the relevancy of the Miss USA and Miss America pageants. It was a GREAT discussion to have on the heels on Miss UT USA's final-answer-heard-around-the-world during last sunday night's telecast of Miss USA 2013, especially since it's been getting so much negative attention in the press.
Joining me in the discussion are former Miss America's, Heather French Henry (2000) and Kirsten Haglund (2008), Nancy Redd from HuffPost Live, Dr. Hilary Levey Friedman, and Jill Simonian.
And if you missed it, here's our new Miss USA, Erin Brady, being interviewed by Matt Lauer on the Today Show. Miss UT USA, Marissa Powell, joins the interview and gets a second chance to answer her final question : )
What do you think about pageants today? Do you think they need to be changed to be made more relevant? Leave your comment below.
