GO NUTS FOR NUTS!

Raw, unsalted nuts are packed full of health-benefiting nutrients that are great for glowing skin, a trim waistline and vibrant brain functions!  The wonderfully delicious pistachio nut top the charts when it comes to its benefits!  Be sure to choose the unsalted kinds.  Most health food stores will sell their bring green delights in bulk (raw, unshelled and unsalted) but be prepared to shell out some dough for there little nutrient-packed powerhouses!  They don't come cheap!!  But just a small handful of these little guys a day provides you with enough recommended levels of phenolic antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and proteins.  So why are pistachios so great for us?  I've listed just a few of their health benefits below...

-  Pistachios are a rich source of energy.  A small handful will get you through those munchie afternoon hours before dinner!  They also help to curb your appetite.

-  Pistachios contain mono-unsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid which enhances memory, induces fat burning, promotes weight loss, and reduces appetite.  Need I say more?

-  Pistachios are loaded with antioxidants, including carotenes, vitamin E, and polyphenolic antioxidant compounds.  Studies have shown that these compounds help the body remove toxic free-radicals, therefore protects the body from diseases, cancers and infections.
