I always say that the part of my job I like least is the hour and a half or more that I spend in hair and makeup. I know it's a weird thing to say since I'm a former beauty queen who now works in front of the camera so getting all glam should something that I'm used to at this point in my life. Well, I'm not. I actually spend most of my days makeup-free and misting my face like Shandi does. We both typically don't wear makeup unless we have a meeting, audition, work or a red carpet event to attend. For me, taking off my makeup after a long day of work is like taking off a tight bra! HA! You know what I'm talking about ladies (and some gents : ))
That being said, I DO own a lot of makeup, a drawer full, and am currently obsessing over Younique Beauty's FAB contour palette. It has three shades for highlighting and three for contouring.
The wonderful Chasity Strickland, founder of Younique Beauty Photography, gifted us the palettes and handy makeup bag after our 1st Annual Pageantpalooza event in SC last year and I've been using it pretty regularly these days. In fact, I used it yesterday to help create this casual look for a car commercial audition that I had in Santa Monica. Fingers crossed that I book the commercial!...
I LOVED my nice, clean look that the highlighting and contouring powders helped me achieve. I simply followed the instructions on the card:
1. Light shades under the eyes, forehead, length of nose and chin.
2. I used the lightest of the contouring shades to accentuate my cheek bones.
Voilá! It was that simply but made a big difference in my opinion. The best part is that the powders are light and I felt like my skin could still breath. HUGE THANKS to Miss Chasity for the wonderful gift! It's a great palette and like I said before...I'm obsessed!!!
Do you have any makeup products that you're currently obsessing over? Let us know in the comments below! There are so many product lines out there so I'm always willing to try new things.
